View Full Version : A very cogent FAQ (Although it's tenuous, at best) DrRay11 09-24-2007, 09:22 PM I don't get where the "cogent" and "tenuous at best" crazes came from. Can someone link me? Timone 09-24-2007, 09:23 PM I don't know where exactly, but budkow used "tenuous, at best" to describe the WalMart Wolverines' connections to U of M, and "cogent" in a post directed at diddy. UxKa 09-24-2007, 09:29 PM Dont question, just run with it. Run.... Timone 09-24-2007, 09:32 PM Unless you don't shop at WalMart. Timone 09-24-2007, 09:34 PM BTW...I wonder where budkow shops. My guess is off the home shopping network. Big Swami 09-24-2007, 11:12 PM Tenuous, at best (http://wtfdetroit.com/forums/showthread.php?p=186069&highlight=tenuous#post186069) Cogent (http://wtfdetroit.com/forums/showthread.php?p=181806&highlight=cogent#post181806) Timone 09-24-2007, 11:19 PM Legendary work Swami. Big Swami 09-25-2007, 11:05 AM Bukdow is a tornado of unintentional hilarity. You never know when he's going to show up, and you don't exactly want him to do it, but he always delivers the goods. Glenn 09-25-2007, 11:12 AM Cogent use of the search function, BS. Balkan 10-01-2007, 07:22 PM I'm slowly absorbing the chaos that is WTFDetroit and need some help on this. What is the story behind board members that are connected to this or that being "tenous" at best? Also, what does being fairly "cogent" have to do with anything? giffman 10-01-2007, 08:06 PM Here's all the history you need to know. In the beginning, there was giffman. Now there are countless others wishing to be as eminently cool as he. But their grip on the coolness mantle is tenuous at best. Is that a cogent explanation? Tahoe 10-02-2007, 12:13 AM I know my connection to you is tenuous, at best giffman, but that is a very cogent reply. Be thankful you weren't around during the Blossoming® era. BTW, Tahoe is definitely blossoming® at the right time. WTFchris 10-02-2007, 11:33 AM Here's all the history you need to know. In the beginning, there was giffman. Now there are countless others wishing to be as eminently cool as he. But their grip on the coolness mantle is tenuous at best. Is that a cogent explanation? So how come you aren't in the tournament of cool? I think you are being overlooked. Zip Goshboots 10-02-2007, 01:52 PM giffman isn't in the tournament of cool because he IS the tournament of cool. Our tournament is just to see who's second best. giffman 10-02-2007, 02:37 PM In fact, winners receive the "giffman award" to denote their eternally cool nature. And it is one helluva an award, too . . . . b-diddy 10-02-2007, 03:48 PM i heard a rumor that giffman is so cool that his nickname in highschool was "the Coge". probably just some crazy rumor, though. Tahoe 10-03-2007, 05:33 PM Question....Is WTFChris going to be able to cheer for the Rockies, post move? If so, why? His connection would be tenuous, at best. Can he still root for the Tigers, post move? Enquiring minds want to know. WTFchris 10-04-2007, 10:32 AM Question....Is WTFChris going to be able to cheer for the Rockies, post move? If so, why? His connection would be tenuous, at best. Can he still root for the Tigers, post move? Enquiring minds want to know. I am cheering for them now. And yes, my connection would be tenuous with them right now. I would say until I have my Colorado DL it would be tenuous. I will still root for the Tigers (they are not same leagues, so it's not like rooting for the Bulls and the Pistons or something like that), and that would not be tenuous. Timone 10-04-2007, 03:38 PM But if you've never played organized baseball you are not allowed to root for either of them. b-diddy 10-04-2007, 03:45 PM when you say organized, are we talking any level, or did we have to play professionally. and if were talking professionally, does that include independent leagues, or should it only be MLB affiliated? and if its MLB affiliated, are we talking any level, or just the majors? what if you made it to the allstar team, but were an injury replacement, and didnt actually get in the game? but lets also say you tried extremely hard to get in the game? are you still tenuous? Timone 10-04-2007, 03:49 PM I don't know...I'm just insecure. http://www.mattwaite.com/blog/archives/kids WTFchris 10-04-2007, 04:21 PM But if you've never played organized baseball you are not allowed to root for either of them. True, but I played C league baseball for the Local Ace Hardware team. Does it matter that I had Nefe Perez like skills at the plate? Glenn 10-04-2007, 04:26 PM Neifi Perez is a nancy boy. Timone 10-04-2007, 04:34 PM Yeah but I heard he's working at WalMart now. Glenn 10-04-2007, 04:36 PM He's nothing but a hanger-onner there, though. Timone 10-04-2007, 04:39 PM Is it possible for anyone to make me a sig with Neifi Perez in a WalMart uniform? Glenn 10-04-2007, 04:45 PM People that can't make their own sigs are nothing but bootlicks. Timone 10-04-2007, 04:48 PM I am also a little pussy. Timone 10-04-2007, 04:49 PM ...and I also ask that we hope a Wolverine lays one on an Eastern Michigan player so we can start a thread about it. WTFchris 10-05-2007, 10:45 AM You could use this one I made for you in an Avatar: http://img527.imageshack.us/img527/167/neifimartic8.jpg Timone 10-05-2007, 02:45 PM Will do, thanks! Tahoe 10-05-2007, 03:46 PM WTFM, do you have a connection to Nefi? Timone 10-05-2007, 07:54 PM Yes. ...Long story. Timone 10-05-2007, 09:20 PM All I know is WalMart = the mansion, the Tigers bench = the plantation. Zekyl 10-07-2007, 06:28 PM Is he a Wal-Mart Wolverine?? Timone 10-07-2007, 06:43 PM No, it's just where he's probably working now. Glenn 10-26-2007, 01:58 AM So I was driving in Kalamazoo last night and I'm heading north on US131 and I notice a Wal-Mart billboard that reads "Support your school, for less" and it features a large picture of a Western Michigan hooded sweatshirt. Next time I drive by, I'll pull over and get a pic for you guys. Is there any chance that there is a similar billboard in the Ann Arbor or East Lansing areas? MoTown 10-26-2007, 02:30 PM Definitely not in East Lansing! Walmarts don't exist over there... Glenn 04-12-2021, 05:23 AM It seemed that the Pistons’ lead was tenuous, at best, for much of the game. They were hitting their shots, but the Clippers were shooting more than 60% from the field, and they were getting easy shots from Morris and George. |
