Well, the ND game was a gutcheck as ND, albeit not very good, was extremely focused in trying to win, but this game will be against a good team on the road.

Similar teams offensively. Average passing, strong running. However, MSU`s defense is better, and a lot better than many think. Both teams will focus on stopping the run and force the respective passing offenses to win the game. This bodes well for MSU as I believe MSU`s passing offense is better with better personel. MSU has more playmakers on offense in general.

I have to agree, it's going to be tough for Michigan State to pull this off in Madison. I went to the Michigan-Wisconsin game a few yrs ago when Wisconsin's qb Stucco ran for a qb sneak to win it late in the 4th quarter. It's a pretty loud stadium and I think Wisconsin will be pretty motivated to win after some lackluster games. Plus, didn't ND's rb run for like 115 yds vs MSU? That doesn't bode well for MSU because they have to deal with PJ Hill.

I'm going to say Wisconsin wins 27-20.

What a concept for a sporting event.
ND brought back alumni en masse. They dedicated a statue to Ara Parseghian. They scrapped the trick plays and over-analytical play calling in favor of an attempt at a basic, stout running game and a defensive scheme based on toughness. Compared to their previous games, ND`s approach to the MSU game was indeed extremely focused.

I see your point. However, I think the games against UNLV and The Citadel show that UW is definitely beatable, even at home.

I think a Dantonio coached team and a defensive scheme by Narduzzi will be solid. And don`t forget, MSU is going to be pretty damned motivated too. This team wants to make good so bad its ridiculous. And Dantonio is just the coach to keep the bit in their mouth so they can be effective.

If you couldn`t care less, why do you post? Why do you think MSU will get its ass handed to it? If MSU wins are you going to be a man and own up to your lack of insight or are you going to act like a 14 year old girl who has just discovered Hunter S. Thompson, Jack Kerouac, J.D. Salinger and her own breasts?

I think we have a new bukdowism: extremely focused.
I like it.
But riddle me this, oh Marvelous Maker of Malaprops: Why is it "lack of insight" when a guy makes a prediction that doesn't go right?
You're prediction is based on opinions that are tenuous, at best: That two other games show Wisconsin is "beatable". By that argument, the Pitt game (by the way, Pitt lost last Saturday to Connecticut) showed that the Spartans may not be the team to do it if they are; Second: Dantonio is still an unproven commodity.
A counter argument might go like this: Wisconsin played DOWN to those first two teams.

That said, I agree with your prediction bukdow, and the score looks good also. Pretty cogent.
Now, don't get a big head, other wise you'll be posting that you graduated from Oxford.

Done.

In 'The World according to Budkant' That MSU win wasn't just a win, it was a win against a team that was extremely focused in trying to win . So MSU's record is 4 and half wins.

UofM's win, on the other hand, was against Penn St who was only mildly focused in trying to win.

Fucking Baggers haven't played a team with a pulse, unless you count Meeechigan, who Appleatin State and Quack, Quack left for dead, since Ron Dayne was there. The douches` found themselves dicking around with fucking Citadel going back and forth. They pull one out in the last minute against the dreaded UNLV whose football team is used to lull retirees to sleep until hoop season begins. They blow. Lets see who shows up on the OL for MSU. If they can piece something together they'll be in the hunt. Cheezitz by 20 my ass. Uh, I'll take the 20, how much?

Artermis

Neither team has played anyone really. It is a home game for Wisky. I think they got the best player in PJ Hill and T. Beckum and I just dont think MSU will be able to stop them.

Didnt MSU give up like 170 yards to the Pitt freshman RB?

I will say the only way MSU keeps it close is if they keep Hill under 100 yards.

HipDigIt
09-26-2007, 06:25 PM
Yup, but the Pitt RB was superfrosh LeSean (sp) McCoy who is presently a better back than this years lighter version of Hill. You may remember he (McCoy) was the #9 player in the country out of Pa. and all set to go to the U of Miami but even those hustlers couldn't get him admitted. Last year he was at the Milford Prep dealio and he ends up at Pitt. He's a great player. I don't know if he got 150 on MSU but I do know 65 were on one play. 5'-11" and 215 and he ran away from EVERYONE. No love for MSU Artemis. I say they hang with them and in doing so it ain't no big thing either cuz Cheezitz sucks.

Artermis

I still dont see MSU doing better than 6-6. I just see too many holes.

MSU has not played one good offense. They played 1 good RB. If they can hang within 20 of Wisky, I will think they are better than I think right now.

BTW I think UM still sucks and have a bunch of holes. But UM has Hart and that will help, plus only one really good QB left to play in Juice WIlliams who runs and throws.

I am extremely impressed with the adjustments Dantonio was able to make at halftime. Holding Wisconsin to 10 points in the third quarter so far shows that he has arrived. Who knows how many points Wisconsin would have by now if Dantonio and Narducci weren't such defensive geniuses?

Zip Goshboots

I think Sparty just benefitted from a refereeing mistake: Defensive holding on a pass play should be an automatic first down, instead this crew replayed third down.
I need some verification of the rule.
This has been a very poorly officiated game.

It is a movie based on the comic book of an ancient factual Greek battle. What did you expect? Something like Troy or Gladiator? I thought it was comical and it hit a climax when the "Immortals" turned out to be orks from Lord of the Rings.

Are you a student of history B-diddy? Please explain to me why you think Sparta was "Athens's little brother" and if you could. Provide a link to the historians who support your view.

Sparta was a land power, bigger than those states around it, while Athens was a sea power that used its empire to maintain its power to counter Sparta.

Well, as Art said, UM deserves the shots.
Henne should have been able to rest his knee another week, Hart should have been able to rest so he has a body left for the last three big games.
Instead, they're Lloyding around with a team that Ohio State beat by 1100 points the week before.

Hip, you've been saying it for years, and I have been agreeing with you: There ain't no shine on this image anymore. This is a middling program that is happy to escape from places like Evanston, Illinois with an ugly win. This is a team that was hoping Apple State would win another championship so a horrible loss wouldn;t look so bad. This is a team that was outclassed at home by a team that will finish 3rd or fourth in their conference.
And they've done it all with a supposed arsenal of returning veteran talent on offense that should have been able to compensate, especially to this point in the season by outscoring or ball controlling everybody til the defense matures.

This ain't no Badd Ass Ohio State type of program.

You can blame Lloyd all you want. He for sure has some due him but with the returning talent at U-M and the shit they come out with week after week? There's something going on in that locker room and nobody keeps shit under the lid as well as U-M does. Maybe it was on here that someone said Johnny Sears got kicked off for fighting on the team bus? If it wasn't here it was on Rivals. You guys have players man and I just don't get it. Again there is something going on in that locker room.

The next banana peel will be Illinois. I've said it since I saw them lose a toughie to Missouri. They're fucking good and "Juice" Williams, Mendenhall and Aurelius Benn (whoooooah) are going to go nuts.

I have been saying for weeks that the Illinois games is the one that scares me the most.

While UM may have lost some of its sheen, did you notice that a lot of teams have lost it at this point. Texas. Barely beat UCF and Arkansas St before getting their shit handed to them by KSU.

Michigan has talent, but not the talent to stop the spread...well I think they have that talent, just not the coaches to get them coached up enough to stop it.

I will never understand taking B. Graham out of the fucking game in nickel situations to put Crable as a DE.

Go to a 5 man line.

UM needs to get a coach like Saban (not the sleazy parts). Someone who tells his guys if they cannot cover for 1.5 seconds then they wont be on the team. That is how to stop the spread. Load up the box go after the QB and dont give up all those little dinks and dunks. You are going to give up the occasional 50-80 yard TD run/pass, but I would rather have that then watch what I have to see week in and week out from UM.

Can MSU beat UM this year....absolutely. Will it happen, yeah if Coach D runs some kind of spread offense.

My problem with that thought is that we never really had a problem keeping it close against good teams, we have had problem against bad ones.

I saw one of the best seal blocks in that game. Illinois was at the goal line and the WR(?) came in and just pancaked the DE allowing the RB to bounce it outside.

Illinois seems to be well coached.
