Batting race tightens -- Magglio Ordonez waved away any questions after Wednesday's loss, in which he went 0-for-4. Ordonez was 3-for-14 with no extra-base hits and no RBIs in the three-game series, and his batting average fell from .357 to .353. Seattle's Ichiro Suzuki began Wednesday second to Ordonez in the American League batting race, at .352.
