I think several people here will be greatly interested in this one seeing that many nay-sayers claimed that State had no chance against Pitt. prior to the season. Pitts qb is out which hurts them, but I guess if MSU "doesn't have a chance" then it won't matter.

I'm expecting a crisp hard hitting performance from the Spartans, their most impressive performance of the short season.

I agree. I think MSU ties up the loose ends on offense and plays its best game of the year. MSU 41 Pitt 23

They went to the Steel City last year with that hapless lot and beat Tyler Palko & Co on the road. I look for MSU to win by about 14. I like the schedule so far. The competition is up a notch each week and this one bleeds right into the Domers in South Bend in 10 days or so. So far I'm pleased with the approach, effort and the results......By the way I saw the Bowling Green game and they were a much better team than I envisioned.

Ladies and gentlemen, the first real test of the season approaches. This game will say a lot about the season.....Win and how do we deal with the NEXT big test against ND. Lose and how do we deal with adversity?

Needless to say, this game will tell us a lot about our team.

I envision a tough defensive football game, but MSU will have more fire power offensively and make some big plays that will open it up. There will be a lot of emotion behind the Spartans to prove they are for real. They will surprise and win by 20.

The Line has the Spartans favoured by 10.5
I guess that means they think the Sparty's will smoke Pitt now that Pitt is devastated through injury

I always like when lines are this big in favor of my team simply from the standpoint that Vegas always wins. Now I know that isn't entirely true, but you go with Vegas and you'll win more often then not. I feel more comfortable about my 20 point victory prediction now. Don't think I've been all that accurate with a prediction yet.

Kenny Demens might be in attendence this week.

Jimmy Comp. MSU's insider views this Pitt game as a very very difficult one. Sounded from his crazy in depth preview that he would have predicted a win for Pitt had their qb been healthy. He still thinks it'll be a nail bitter and either team could come out on top. This guy doesn't do coach talk, straight shooter so this isn't a conservative I'll give credit to the other team kindof talk. His post made me much more nervous. Sounds like Pitts rb is a stud. Comp. said he is Sedrick Irvin type/quality/style/etc.

I'll stand by my prediction of a win though. I think we are going to see some crazy Spartan emotion in this one.

Congrats to what may be my new favorite team by this time next year.
I didn;t watch the whole game, but I like the Sparty defense. Nice spying of the QB by the middle linebacker. The guy couldn;t break containment on a couple runs where it seemed like it was open once he made a dlineman miss.
I might enjoy this Sparty stuff.
Of course, this would be, at best, a tenuous connection to Sparty, and against the rules.

The penalty issue reemerged, which spooks me. But asde from that the tough, agressive D was good to see and I stick to my prediction of a bowl game.

........but I'll take it. Hoyer was off. The walk on, Bacon, who plugged in for the dinged up Ro Martin looked terrible. Ashton Henderson, hot shot Florida CB or no, cannot play. He got torched AGAINST UAB and continued down that path yesterday. Dude looks lost out there. I'm hoping Ro can make it back next week. I'm really hoping that Dantonio has been keeping Gyetvai under wraps for the Domers. He is their best OL and would really help. Meanwhile yesterday on the "D" No Davis, No Weaver, No Nemo and they still rallied round one another. Jonal St. Dic is a battler. High motor. Greg Jones is going to be a 1st round draft pick probably a year earlier than desirable. The FUCKING JOHN L. PENALTIES....11 for 125 are a big step back. That shit is in the gene pool somehow. I just don't understand it. As for next week? I'm going out by the pool to ruminate. ND is about as bad as it gets but I'm not feeling too plucky right now myself about this effort.

Overlook the penalties just this once. About half of them were a joke and forced by the Big East officials. I like the Dantonio didn't talk about them, but he let it be known non-verbally that they were awful. We won't see this anymore, I'll guarantee that. It wasn't the same ole crap, it was just a case of some increased penalities and terrible officiating. Funny how they always came when we got into scoring position. hmmmm

The defense was freaking awesome and I am starting to love some of the guys on that D.

The theme this year is get the W, I don't care how. I don't care if it is ugly, I don't care if it is tight, just win. And the Spartans did that. Lets just hope the injuries are not too bad because that is the thing that scares me and there were many.

I watched the entire game, it was quite obvious that Michigan State was the better team, but they really played down to their opponent. Pitt's QB Kevan Smith was horrible, yeah he's subbing for the injured Stull, but he was absolutely the worst QB in the nation on Saturday. They should've played the stud super frosh Bostick. MSU's offensive line wasn't that great, nor was Pitt's. MSU should've blown them out, they got a bunch of stupid penalties. MSU will get destroyed by Wisconsin next week, and Pitt will be lucky to win 4 games this year despite already having 2...and Hoyer was very lousy, MSU played down to Pitt on Sat IMO...

and let it be known, i am not a spartans fan

Didn't you guarantee MSU would lose to Pittsburgh? I clearly remember that. Offensive line for State was bad because 2 starters were already out going into the game and they lost two more while the game went on. Basically 2nd string O-line. I agree that they did play down to them though. MSU won't get destroyed by Wisc. next week because they don't play them next week, they'll move to 4-0 with a win over Notre Dame.

I'll take that blowout prediction with a grain of salt because I don't think you've had a single MSU prediction right so far.

That's only because that fucking stiff Rex Grossman doesn't play on Saturdays anymore.

How genius am I for saying last week that Sparties are moralizers with regard to Michigan and excuse makers for the Green?

How did Dantonio "let it be known non verbally? Did he blink once for a bad call and twice for a good call? Did he wiggle his ears in disgust after yet another Sparty penalty?

Glenn

In my opinion, that decision by Dantonio to go for it on 4th down, up by one point, late in the game, and in field goal range was absolutely horrible.

You kick the field goal, go up 4, and they have to drive the length of the field and get into the end zone to beat you, something that they were having big time trouble doing in the first place.

Even if State would have converted the 4th down and scored a TD, Pitt was still within one score of knotting the game up.

Pitt bailed MD out by turning it right back over, so I'm sure this will be forgotton, but it could have cost them the game against a better team.

Baker

I think he made that decision based on the fact that they got the previous fg blocked. Pitt. was getting ridiculous pressure up the middle on kicks early in the game and then they finally blocked one. Probably had him spooked and he probably wanted to stick the stake in the heart given the fact that they were so close to doing so. Having a 260 pd tailback doesn't hurt the chances on 4th and 1 either. I can see an arguement made either way.

We don't have to make excuses Zip, you see...we have actually been winning our games. I don't think you understand the concept. BTW, we all know Michigan fans wear the excuse king crown. That has been UM's for years.

Let it be known by saying many of calls were, paused, stopped himself, and rolled his eyes. Communications 101 Zip, you must have not had that course.

It's called non-verbal communication. The fact that you don't understand it reflects your intelligence.

Every post of yours gets worse and worse. Did I ever say I have a problem with guarantees? Love the GuaranSHEED! I have a problem with a player on a team that's the joke of the college football world guaranteeing victory over an 0-2 pathetic team right after his team was humiliated on their home field. I'm starting to see why Jethro has went on vacation. It's morons like B-Diddy that ruin boards. Your only purpose is just to spew a bunch of shit and you're doing a fantastic job of it.

MSU slappy... I feel sorry for you

Feel sorry for me? Why? I'm in a fantastic mood right now with everything going terrifically in the sports world.

You're the one that has been wrong about everything and you're the one with the embarrassment of your team hanging over your head.
