View Full Version : OGT: Oregon @ Michigan
Baker 09-07-2007, 02:06 PM I'm really looking forward to this game. I think it'll be interesting and I could see it going either way. I could see Michigan coming out prepared this time and angry and blow it open. I could also see Oregon running the spread with better athletes and taking it to Michigan. Regardless, it should be an exciting game. Go Ducks!

Tahoe 09-07-2007, 02:55 PM I didn't go to UofM. Is it ok with you if I watch this game? Can I root for UofM? Or just watch?
Glenn 09-07-2007, 03:00 PM ^ cogerrific!
Baker 09-07-2007, 03:25 PM Bukdow is my Spartan boy and I feel that. But I gotta admit, that was still pretty funny.

You can only watch from your pleather couch wearing your maize/blue polyester shirt that you bought from Walmart.
You arrogant son of a bitch.

Yes, you may watch the game and root for UM. However, you are not allowed to act like a smug dick or in any way superior to those who attended other universities, because you did not attend UM. You are merely a fan and have an extremely tenuous connection, at best, to the university. I have been very consistent in this assertion.

Can it be a Nike shirt? Or only Addidas?
Glenn 09-07-2007, 03:35 PM However, you are not allowed to act like a smug dick or in any way superior to those who attended other universities, because you did not attend UM.
But if you did attend UM...

I think you have an inferiority complex.
bukdow 09-07-2007, 03:37 PM But if you did attend UM...
If you did attend UM, and an alum, then you have the right to tout the university and your affiliation with it.
Glenn 09-07-2007, 03:37 PM As far as the game, I have no idea what to expect from Michigan.
On one hand, they should be motivated to the hilt, being trashed by the media and well, the entire nation, all week long.
On the other hand, they might not be very good.
Belotti always seems to have his teams prepared.
Timone 09-07-2007, 03:37 PM All the teams I like and root for usually lose nowadays, so Go Ducks!!
MoTown 09-07-2007, 06:36 PM What if you went to an institution with higher academic standards than U of M. Say, Harvard, but you hate the institution you attended and had to pick another school to cheer for. Could you then cheer for Michigan and be smug?
What if one of both of your parents went to U of M?
What if your kid goes to U of M?
What if U of M offered you a scholarship but you went somewhere else because you wanted a different future that U of M couldn't offer you?
I'm just asking.
Tahoe 09-07-2007, 06:44 PM I'm just asking.
Me too. I have many questions on this.
b-diddy 09-07-2007, 09:04 PM Yes, you may watch the game and root for UM. Here we go again. I think it was a joke, but ya never know. If it wasn't a joke I'll admit I have a complex. I wish MSU was getting all the national attention all this past week like Michigan. lol
Baker 09-07-2007, 10:15 PM Quit stealing my pic Zip, I used that a year ago in regards to Muhme! That's my material. BTW, I give everybody here way more credit than Muhme. Homeboy will seriously show up when the sun is absolutely shining on Michigan and talk all kinds of shit, but when it isn't he is nowhere to be found. I'm not talking about taking a break like many of us have done when we are worked over by our team. I'm talking not showing up for like months. He'll be gone for an entire bball season until State loses or something and then he'll pop in.
b-diddy 09-07-2007, 10:18 PM i think he's referring to buckdow's "your not allowed to act supperior because you didnt go to michigan" stance. it kinda implies he thinks people from michigan are allowed to feel supperior. inferiority complex.

That's a good point. I still show up to embarrass myself no matter what. I'm noticing a few other absentees...
darkobetterthanmelo 09-07-2007, 11:00 PM This will be the only game this year I root for Michigan, fuck the OregOn fans. Some idiot wore a Joey jersey to the tigs game tonight. Something about OregOn fans that just screams "pussy."
FillyCheezeSteak 09-07-2007, 11:07 PM FWIW, I went to and graduated from SVSU, but have been rooting for Michigan since I was 3 years old. I'll be at the Big House tomorrow rooting on my Wolverines because I am a fan. I don't play for or coach the Wolverines and have no barring on the outcome of the game as a fan, but I'll be there cheering like a 12 year old catholic girl.
Win or lose I'm going to cheer for them next week, the week after and even when Lloyd Carr leaves the team. As for the game itself I see Mike Hart having a great day against a somewhat porrus Oregon defensive front. Look for Hart to rack up near 200 yards again and a few scores.

Thank you for your confession. You get partial credit for recognizing that you have a extremely tenuous connection, at best, to the university.
Glenn 09-08-2007, 05:47 AM By the way, I enjoy bukdow's posts.
Zip Goshboots 09-08-2007, 09:02 AM You have to give credit to bukdow. He is helping the WalMart Wolverine bare his soul to the world.
Trailer parks evreywhere are going to be a better place to live because of bukdow. We Michigan fans can hoist our tattered block M flags, the ones that have been chewed up by the pit bulls we let roam through the park, with pride, even if we don;t have a double wide.
Thank you bukdow. You are giving us all a sense of pride, and we shall unleash our minions unto the world from this day forward.
Artermis 09-08-2007, 10:06 AM I check in every day, but after the last performance by the Wolverines, I didnt think I deserved to get all defensive and act like a dick.
So basically what Budkow is saying is that you can root for the team, but if you try to back up your team when someone is dissing them, then you are a wannabe fan and need to shut up.
Because anyone who defends UM is just some low life pleather wearing faggot, who has no right to defend a school they did not go to.

Or, you can have imaginary MSU degrees and be completely complacent in your imaginary superiority. And be jugemental about others, and come on a message board and get them all riled up.
Zip Goshboots 09-08-2007, 04:43 PM Where's bukdow with his big Michigan victory prediction now?
Hermy 09-08-2007, 04:45 PM God this team can't tackle. Getting beat up by a soft Pac-10 club.
MoTown 09-08-2007, 04:59 PM You know what's funny? I looked at my girlfriend the second they put Carlos Brown in and said "Here comes a fumble."
I guess Lloyd just wanted to give Oregon the ball.
Timone 09-08-2007, 05:00 PM This is pathetic.
Where's Ledezma?
Zip Goshboots 09-08-2007, 05:01 PM Hey, Michigan fans. Keep a stiff upper llip. A couple years ago, Nebraska, mighty Nebraska, lost a game 70-10.
MoTown 09-08-2007, 05:03 PM Okay - about those rules from Bukdow.
If your team totally blows and is an embarrassment to themselves and their fans, are you allowed to root for another team so you can at least stay interested in College Football in the 2007 season? If for nothing else, just to keep your own sanity?
If so, I choose USC. (And I will become an arrogant USC fan)
MoTown 09-08-2007, 05:06 PM Oh and if Lloyd is such a good recruiter, how come we have 11 special ed students playing defense?
Appologies to all of the special ed students on this board.
b-diddy 09-08-2007, 05:06 PM !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
b-diddy 09-08-2007, 05:08 PM if your a school thats never ran the spread, have no idea what its about, dont even have the talent to play it, wouldnt you still run it against UM?
Hermy 09-08-2007, 05:08 PM !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thats the fucking ticket right there.
Timone 09-08-2007, 05:09 PM I'm going to feel really bad for the guys who have to clean all the garbage off the field after the game.
b-diddy 09-08-2007, 05:09 PM we need a dinger before the half, and we need to not abandon hart.
is it at all possible mr henne could be benched?
Timone 09-08-2007, 05:14 PM Mallett sighting.
b-diddy 09-08-2007, 05:15 PM how is the backup qb unable to get into the game? is the kid a nucklehead or is that just the coaching staff having a thumb up its ass?
funny that i mention henne sitting and a play later he gets dinged. coincidence or maybe super powers?
I've missed a ton of Michigan games over the years living abroad but over the last three years every game I've seen Michigan lose the opposing coach seems to just about use the exact same formula: spread the D, make them stop your quarterback, blitz early and often and mix your blitzes up and throw at least 3 or 4 wrinkles to your game knowing that U of M will not be able to pick them up or be able to fully adjust.
I don't think they should fire Carr right now, but I do think the game's evolved and he has not evolved with it. They're getting exposed more and more and it's time to bring in someone more in tune with today's college game.
Timone 09-08-2007, 05:19 PM This is almost comical.
b-diddy 09-08-2007, 05:20 PM "sure i do". classic. this game does lend credence to the "its over for Lloyd" notion. i just really hope he can go out not in disgrace, though im thinking that might not be too likely.
darkobetterthanmelo 09-08-2007, 05:21 PM Theres room on the ND bandwagon
Timone 09-08-2007, 05:22 PM This is fucking hilarious.
Fixed it.
"sure i do". classic. this game does lend credence to the "its over for Lloyd" notion. i just really hope he can go out not in disgrace, though im thinking that might not be too likely.
I think you've put it perfectly. I'd love to have him announce his retirement in the middle of the season and allow the team and the school the chance to let him go out with some dignity (which he definitely deserves). And if that fired up the team to play that much better, well, nothing wrong with that.
Zip Goshboots 09-08-2007, 05:23 PM Okay - about those rules from Bukdow.

I'll speak for bukdow, he's probably mailing away for his PhD right about now.
If you are a UM fan, you can NOT take part in the success, but of cou4rse, if they suck, you suck, your family sucks, and the entire country of El Salvador sucks.
Zip Goshboots 09-08-2007, 05:24 PM Theres room on the ND bandwagon
Fuck that, the Sparties are 2-0.
Fuck Notre Dame in the ass. They're catholic, they like it there.
Timone 09-08-2007, 05:31 PM So do the Wolverines.
Darth Thanatos 09-08-2007, 05:32 PM Since I'm living in Louisville now, i might as well root for them now.
b-diddy 09-08-2007, 05:33 PM taking it doesnt necessarilly mean liking it.
Timone 09-08-2007, 05:36 PM They will take it. AND they will like it.
Timone 09-08-2007, 05:37 PM Mallett is now going to be the QB for the second half.
b-diddy 09-08-2007, 05:42 PM oh malley boy! sorry chadwick, te season is fucked anyway, might as well work on next year.
nice tackle (eventually) on O's rb. i knew he couldnt break 11 tackles on one play....
b-diddy 09-08-2007, 05:47 PM oh dear god.
Timone 09-08-2007, 05:47 PM lol @ the crowd cheering when the offense took the field with Mallett.

b-diddy 09-08-2007, 05:53 PM "i would refuse that".
thanks, guy. this is some great analysis. i really couldnt figure out that 2 and 22 is better for UM than first and 20.
Timone 09-08-2007, 05:54 PM Anything they say during this game is going to sound redundant.
b-diddy 09-08-2007, 05:54 PM i'd probably let mallet get his feet wet before i had him airing it out. we still have time, dont need to get desperate just yet.
This is one of the worst prepared Michigan teams I've ever seen.
b-diddy 09-08-2007, 06:02 PM big break. we looked spent on that drive and somehow got the ball back. gotta do something here. of course, mallet/miner is worrisome.
Timone 09-08-2007, 06:03 PM Just wave the white flag.
Timone 09-08-2007, 06:07 PM At least when Michigan loses this game the whole Appalachian State loss won't sting as much, lol.
b-diddy 09-08-2007, 06:09 PM i'll say this: mallet is a prospect. hes definitly who is giving us our best chance this year, but i like what i see.
ps the braveheart / nfl commercial might be the best commercial ever. i typically hate all commercials, even funny ones, but addidas got me on that one.
Timone 09-08-2007, 06:26 PM Can't wait for the Tigers game.
Tahoe 09-08-2007, 06:27 PM for the second week in a row. Kind of a bad sign, wouldn't you say?

Zip Goshboots 09-08-2007, 07:03 PM jake long just got hurt. if we lose long / henne/ heart, this could be a losing season.
Geezus H Christ: What the hell have you been watching? This team SUCKED ass with those guys in the game anyway. The way they are coached, this may have been a losing season with them in there.
Do Michigan fans have any grasp on the concept of "reality"?
Are you really surprised by this?
Timone 09-08-2007, 07:12 PM What does the H stand for anyway?
HipDigIt 09-08-2007, 07:27 PM I would like to formally apologize for my "Over 64" pic in todays U of M game. I was under the distinct impression that since the game was to be played in A2 that the Wolfos would be participating.
MoTown 09-08-2007, 07:46 PM I think it's pretty obvious that Michigan is just unlucky in that they faced the two best teams in the nation in their first two games.
They got the rest of the season in the bag.

Due, you are SOOO right! I'm thinking 11-2, BCS win, and another year for Lloyd!
Artermis 09-08-2007, 08:29 PM UM needs a new scheme in the worst of ways.
If either Debord or English are kept at the end of this season after Carr retires, I will lose my fucking mind even worse than I am already am.
FillyCheezeSteak 09-08-2007, 08:44 PM Just to let you guys know............it looks even worse in person!!! I've never seen 109,000 people sit in dead silence and people were actually dumb enough to cheer when Henne didn't come back out and we were forced to go with Mallett.

LOL....and lost a tight one today.
Baker 09-09-2007, 01:14 PM That was an absolute MELTDOWN. Hart yelling at O'line, O'line yelling back, Lloyd screaming at assistants, Mallet yelling at WRs, Bitch Boy kicking the Oregon DB because he can't beat him, WOOOOOOOOOOW! One of the biggest meltdowns I've seen.
LOL @ B-Diddy, Xanadu, and hiding Wil Ledezma.
I feel for the rest of the UM fans.

Duly noted.
However, those of us who choose to see a silver lining in everything would note that
A) The kid who kicked the knee of the Oregonian showed pretty good form, and maybe should be the PK;
B) Lloyd and everyone associated with him and his staff are GONE, baby.
This means regime change: SOmething and someONE new. It's clear to those who look at it objectively that Lloyd weren't gonna get it done anymore, and the drop off has been noticed already.
I've told HipDigIt that this is the most exciting time in Michigan football in 30 years (of course, except for '97). A change is gonna come....
b-diddy 09-09-2007, 01:43 PM during the lsu game they were talking like it was almost a given that les was heading home.
bukdow 09-09-2007, 01:48 PM during the lsu game they were talking like it was almost a given that les was heading home.
I think UM will be an attractive job. It has resources and history. It also has questionable ethics and has been proven to be a fraud regarding its alleged high academic standards for its football team. Nonetheless, in the me, me, gimme, gimme world of college football, UM will be desirable. Schiano, Tedford and Miles will get long looks. It depends on how they receive UM`s courtship. All three are in good situations now, so UM may indeed have to look elsewhere. Who is coaching Miami (OH) right now?
Baker 09-09-2007, 01:48 PM during the lsu game they were talking like it was almost a given that les was heading home.
Talk about a downgrade. Les has one of the top 5 programs right now and they looked amazing last night.

You KNOW it is a given. My hope is that UM contacts LSU like, NOW, and negotiations start, and nobody talks about it so the season doesn;t become a circus for Miles and his LSU team.
I also hope Miles brings Bo Pellini with him. I saw what Pellini did with Nebraska's defense in one year with shit talent.

Well, sometimes things don't go the way you want in life, such as watching your team lose in embarassing fashion. However, life goes on and I could still care less about what you think.
Anyways, I could be petty (like some moderators), but I'll choose not to be.

You are damn right I set the rules. And a worthless little whelp like you will listen. You are nothing more than a bandwagon chaser. If MSU had been the dominant team in Michigan, you would be an MSU fan. You are cheap, tawdry and useless. I suggest you shut your pie hole and listen to your betters. Capice, jackass?
