Looks like the field hockey team is back on track. They are 4-0, ranked #19 and recently shut out #17 BC. The team hasn`t been to the Final Four since 2004. The key to the turn around? Dutch girls.

The MSU field hockey team is now ranked #7 in the country.

I hear that they went from #19 to #7, just since this morning, on the strength of Appalacian State's victory over Michigan.

How is the MSU Lawn Jart team doing?

Do you think they'll get a bowl game?

On a side note; UM`s field hockey team went from #14 to UR. Must be something in the water. Oh, but I`m sure the pleather crowd doesn`t care about field hockey, only football. Why? Because they didn`t go to the university so the only feel compelled to latch onto the football program in an attempt to validate their community college "degrees" and failures in College Algebra.

Glenn

Well, I'm one UM fan that only cares about football (basketball to a much lesser extent).

Not sure if my MSU degree is made of pleather or not, though. Maybe I'll check when I get home.

That's for you, Tre.

the highlight of any season for an msu woman field's hockey fan is always more about UM's team stumbling than anything that happens on the spartan field.

ps: zip is on to something. this reeks of a lame attempt of gaining "in with the crowd" status.

pps: woman's softball blew up in ann arbor the year they won it. that team was probably more popular than the hockey or basketball teams. slight exageration. [/inside scoop] accept me!

On the one point where you barely make sense, you are wrong. MSU has been equal to if not better than UM for a long time. The rest of your post is unintelligible gibberish.

Note: A Michigan fan making fun of MSU women is fighting a battle he can not win.

Tactical adjustment: Get an EMU fan to talk about how close their campus is to Ann Arbor as EMU girls > MSU girls > UM girls.

Big match this weekend. #4 MSU vs. #5 UConn @ UConn. Both teams are 6-0. MSU also plays Yale this weekend. No problem there, MSU should roll the Bulldogs right around 8-1.

Well, it was a tough 4-3 OT loss for the Spartans. I think they will take their frustration out on hapless Yale and beat the Bulldogs 10-0. The match is Sunday. I`ll let y`all know how it turned out.

While you're at it, I would love to hear how the MSU Track and Field team is looking for the spring. Do they have a lot of Cross Country runners on the team this year?

Zip Goshboots

One thing I will say is that if UM field hockey doesn;t get it done this year, the coach is OOT, and UM can go out and get any field hokcey coach they want.

Well, MSU neutered the Bulldogettes 6-1. Would have been nice to have gotten the East Coast sweep, but MSU still looks like the top Big Ten team along with Iowa. Could be another Final Four year.

I probably should have started a new thread for this, but:

Michigan beat MSU in field hockey back on October 5th, 2-1 in OT. I would have posted this earlier, but I've been too excited to type for the last two weeks!

Michigan is now #5, MSU is a lot lower at #7.

Yep, that was a good win for UM. MSU bounced back with wins over OSU and #9 PSU. We will see where things stand at the end of the year and who wins the Big Ten. It could be Iowa.

It's about time Iowa does something. Fucking Ferentz is just an over rated hack at this point. He hasn't shit with their field hockey team since Brad Banks left.

U-M field hockey team wins 10th in a row
Fitzpatrick scores in overtime as Wolverines defeat Central Michigan, 3-2

Thursday, October 18, 2007
From Local Reports

MOUNT PLEASANT - Kelly Fitzpatrick scored nearly 3 minutes into overtime to give the No. 4-ranked University of Michigan field hockey team its 10th consecutive victory, 3-2 over Central Michigan, on Wednesday.

Fitzpatrick, a snarky little sophomore, intercepted an errant Chippewas pass to create a breakaway opportunity. She pulled CMU goalie Louise Gericke out of the cage on the left side, then dribbled the ball around the sprawled-out Gericke and dumped it in for the score.

The Wolverines, who last lost Oct. 9 to No. 3 Connecticut, improved to 12-4. They have won five games in overtime during their current winning streak.

Stephanie Hoyer gave Michigan a tenuous 1-0 lead in the first half, and Ashley Lennington, who shops at Wal Mart, made it 2-1 for the Wolverines in the second half on an assist from Hoyer.

Michigan outshot those bootlick Chippewas (5-9) 18-9 and had nine penalty corners to CMU's seven.

The Wolverines wrap up the Big Ten portion of their schedule at 1 p.m. Sunday at Northwestern.

It should also be noted that to embrace my Walmart Wolverine heritage I have "always low prices" inked right above my penis.
