Owen Wilson in suicide attempt?

HOLLYWOOD star Owen Wilson has been rushed to hospital after cutting his wrists and taking a lot of pills during a suicide attempt at his Santa Monica house, according to the National Enquirer and Star Magazine.

The report claims that he was discovered by a family member who summoned help.

Police and an ambulance responded to a 911 call from Owen's house around noon on Sunday and witnesses claims that his wrist was sutured and bandaged at the hospital.

Gossip website TMZ released this statement from Santa Monica Police:

"On Sunday Aug. 26. 2007 at 12.10pm officers from the Santa Monica Police Department responded to a medical assistance call from the Santa Monica Fire Department at the 900 block of 23rd Street.

The person was transported to a local hospital where they are being treated." TMZ has learned the 911 call came in at 11.59am to the L.A. Fire Department.

National Enquirer editor-in-chief David Perel tells gossip website PerezHilton.com:

“Owen Wilson has now been transferred from St. John’s to another Los Angeles area hospital. His brothers Andrew and Luke are with him.

“Andrew found him after the suicide attempt and called an ambulance. Both of Owen’s wrists were slashed superficially and Owen had taken an overdose of pills.

“Owen was found with a nearly empty bottle of pills next to him. He was at his house in Santa Monica.”

Wilson is in a stable condition.

On Drew and Mike this morning they were talking about photos of him at some gay bar kissing guys. I wonder if this is related to that (ie: embarassment from that).

It's hard to imagine one of entertainment's funniest and most lovable characters in such a dark place that he would try to end his life, but that is apparently what Owen Wilson did over the weekend. Wilson was most recently tabloid fodder when his relationship with Kate Hudson ended earlier this year, and the news of his hospitalization with a slit wrist and ingestion of a bottle of pills coincided with announcements of starring roles in two new films.

Owen Wilson has the Sun in Scorpio, along with three other planets (Neptune, Mercury and the Moon), giving him an exceptionally strong intensity and passion in everything he does. Scorpio is a fiery water sign that is anchored in the realm of the emotional underworld; the dark and deep underbelly of our feelings that others may fear to witness. There is a great deal of courage in the Scorpio personality, since they are the ones willing to face their inner demons and become transformed by them. Wilson's chart is made more complex with the addition of three planets in Libra, the sign of relationships (Mars, Uranus and Jupiter). Partnerships are very important to him with this strong Libra emphasis, but the combination of Mars and Uranus can be problematic. Mars is our aggressive urge and Uranus shows where we are rebellious and dislike convention, and this is a combination that is exciting and energetic but also dislikes restrictions. Wilson enjoys living alone and when in a relationship with a woman he fears the restrictions that a commitment will require. When Wilson broke up with singer Sheryl Crow, his last serious relationship, he said that his lack of "focus" (read commitment) was the cause of the failure of all of his relationships. His most recent publicized relationship was with a Hollywood stripper which ended with Wilson feeling trapped. This need for freedom and autonomy conflicts with Wilson's intensely passionate nature, and creates within him a conflict over commitment.

When transiting Saturn made a conjunction to Venus as well as Mercury earlier this month, all in Leo, these planets were all in a square formation to Wilson's Sun/Neptune conjunction. Saturn is known as the Lord of Karma, and when we experience challenging Saturn transits the chickens come home to roost. These can be very productive periods if we face the challenges that are offered to us, but they can also be times of depression and emotional pain.

What is more difficult for him right now is a transit of Pluto, the planet of endings and regeneration, that is affecting Chiron in his chart. Chiron shows where we have been wounded and where we have a place in our inner psyche of emotional pain that requires healing. Pluto transits to Chiron force us to face those difficult places and release the pain so that we can leave the past behind and move forward. Since we are only human, we tend to run from these painful cycles until we can run no more, and for Owen Wilson that time appears to have come.

Pluto will continue to pass over sensitive places in Wilson's chart throughout next year, making this a time of change and transformation for him.

Instead of starting a new thread, I thought I'd add that Hulk Hogan's son, Nick was in a bad car wreck last night in Florida. They used the jaws to free him from his car then he had to be life flighted to the hosptial. The inuries are supposed to be very very serious. Thats what I read anyway.

Also, Owen Wilson's doctor said sometime along the lines of "After all the years I've been in this business, I can tell the difference between a suicide attempt and a cry for attention. This was a cry for attention. It looked like he cut himself shaving" in reference to the severity of the cuts. Could have been that after all the pills, he didn't have the strength to push down hard enough though, who knows.

So Nick Hogan is out of the hospital, but the passenger is still in serious condition. If the passenger dies, Nick Hogan will get a felony and go to prison according to most legal analysts.

The story I read today said that an eye witness said that he was racing a silver Viper. Hogans other car is a silver Viper. The story said they didn't know if Hulk was in the Viper or not. Nick had an interview in some magazine and said the family is always racing around town.

In all fairness to Luke Wilson here, Kate Hudson isn't all that appealing to me.
